The Cultural curriculum in Montessori refers to an integrated study that includes History, Biology, Geography, and Physical Science, as well as the Arts.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a harvest festival celebrated in Chinese culture. It happens on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night. The festival is a time for families to gather, give thanks for the harvest, and pray for good fortune.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is also deeply rooted in Chinese mythology. One of the most famous legends associated with the festival is the story of Chang’e (嫦娥), the Moon Goddess.
At IMP we bringing the Mid-Autumn Festival into our classroom to connect students with Chinese culture and traditions. We’ve curated engaging activities from hands-on crafts to interactive storytelling, these activities will help students to explore the festival’s rich history, stories, and customs.
