Loy Krathong Celebration 2024 at IMP

September 26, 2024

The Cultural curriculum in Montessori refers to an integrated study that includes History, Biology, Geography, and Physical Science, as well as the Arts.

Incorporating Cultural lessons into a student’s educational experience enables them to enrich their understanding of the world and their place in it.

Loy Krathong is a festival celebrated by the Thai people on the full moon night of the twelfth month of the Thai lunar calendar. It’s when people gather around lakes, rivers and canals to pay respects to the goddess of water by releasing beautiful lotus-shaped rafts, decorated with candles, incense and flowers onto the water.

In IMP, students made their own Krathongs on this auspicious day to learn about the culture and traditions of Thailand and experience the beauty and the intricacies of Thai art and values.
